Travel with a Twist™Pty Ltd does not engage in speculative work, our policy is to charge an up-front travel-planning fee of $550 Inclusive of GST for an itinerary to enable our staff to dedicate exclusively the time and resources to your request. If you choose to book your trip with us, this fee will be absorbed into the final cost of the services we provide. If you choose to book elsewhere or cancel, this fee will cover the services rendered during the planning process. The fee is payable via invoice, once the funds have reached our account, we will commence work.

Terms & Conditions engaging with Travel with a Twist™Pty Ltd

 

Important Information

 

Please read carefully the following Terms & Conditions before you make any Booking with Travel with a Twist™ as these are the basis for your acceptance/understanding of Travel with a Twist™ services. All care has been taken to ensure that the information contained is correct, however, there are circumstances that are beyond Travel with a Twist™ control. Airline Schedule changes, tax increases and increases in operational costs are all subject to change. Travel with a Twist™ cannot be held responsible for changes that occur and reserve the right to increase the price of any travel arrangements up to the date of departure. Changes in price may also include adjustments to currency exchange rate fluctuations. We reserve the right to correct any error in rate quoted or calculated for any services notwithstanding that the invoice may have been paid in full.

 

Deposit and Final Payments

 

You will be required to pay a deposit or deposits at the time of booking. Travel with a Twist™ will advise you of the amount needed too sure your booking/s. In the event you wish to change your mind or cancel your booking, all deposits are non-refundable. (Please refer to http://www.consumerlaw.gov.au for up to date information on your rights under the Australian Consumer Law). Final payment is required no later than 90 to 60 days prior to departure unless otherwise stated. Some airfares or services must be paid in full at the time of booking.

 

Our First Consultation and Travel Planning Deposits

Cancellation Policy

 

Subject to your refund and remedy rights under the Australian Consumer Law, the following fees apply if we change or cancel any bookings at your request: Cancellations of booking ( in addition to supplier charges ) will incur a fee of $250.00 Inclusive GST per passenger per booking 

 

Commissions and Travel Management fees

In the event of ANY cancellation/ refund, our fees and any commissions are non-refundable

 

Supplier Change and Cancellation Fees

 

Cancelled bookings may also incur supplier fees, which can be up to 100% of the cost of the booking, regardless of whether travel has commenced. Supplier fees may also apply where a booking is changed and when tickets or documents are re-issued. Where we incur any liability for a supplier cancellation fee for any booking which you change or cancel, you agree to indemnify us for the amount of that fee. Where you seek a refund for a cancelled booking for which payment has been made to the supplier, we will not provide a refund to you until we receive the funds from that supplier.

 

All cancellations MUST be in writing prior to departure.

 

In writing constitutes by mail /email (PLEASE confirm our receipt by phone to ensure the validity of cancellation) received by Travel with a Twist™ (during office hours and not weekends & public holidays).

 

Travel with a Twist™ does not undertake speculative work. Once this Proposal is accepted fees will be charged from the commencement of work in accordance with the costs, charges, terms and conditions herein. Should the client’s requirements change significantly we may need to recalculate the costs involved

 

Form of payment

 

Travel with a Twist™ accepts all major credit cards, direct deposit, Cheque

 

Payments by Credit Card

 

Credit card surcharges of 2.1% for Visa and MasterCard and, 2.7% for American Express, will apply when paying by credit card. You authorise Travel with a Twist™to charge all fees incurred by you in relation to the services provided to the credit card designated by you. 

 

Payments by Cheque

 

Please note that cheque payments (excluding bank cheques) require about 5 business days to process. If you are paying by this method, you will need to make the payment at least 5 business days prior to the actual due date. You agree not to stop payment of the cheque even when you cancel a booking. You agree that we may apply the proceeds of the cheque to satisfy any liability you have to us, including any liability in respect of cancellation fees, before refunding the balance to you.

 

Taxes

 

Airline taxes are subject to change and are confirmed at the time your airline ticket is issued. There may also be a local tax charged at some airports.

 

Travel Insurance

 

We strongly recommend that you take out appropriate travel insurance to cover your travel arrangements. Travel insurance is also strongly recommended by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for all overseas travel. The vast majority of your travel arrangements will proceed according to plan but the unexpected can occur; we recommend travel insurance that safe guards you against; baggage loss, medical expenses, theft and other contingencies. In order for us to arrange your insurance, you must confirm that you understand the limits on your cover and your duty of disclosure to the insurer. Travel insurance can be obtained directly on our webiste www.travelwithatwist.com.au under travel insurance. If you decline travel insurance, you may be required to sign a disclaimer.

 

Documentation

 

It is the client’s responsibility to ensure they carefully check the spelling of their names, travel dates, air tickets and itineraries immediately upon receipt. Travel documents may be subject to certain conditions and/or restrictions including (without limitation) being non-refundable, non-date-changeable and subject to cancellation and/or amendment fees. Travel documents cannot be transferred to another person to use. All airline tickets must be issued in the name of the passport/photo identity holder. An incorrect name on a booking may result in an inability to use that booking and the booking being cancelled. Please contact Travel with a Twist™ for any discrepancies, failure to do so will incur an additional fee.

 

Schedule Changes

 

We recommend that you contact the airline to confirm your scheduled departure time 24 hours prior to your flight.
 

Heath & Vaccinations

 

You must ensure that you are aware of any health requirements and recommended precautions relevant to your travel and ensure that you carry all necessary vaccination documentation. In some cases, failure to present required vaccination documentation (e.g. proof of Yellow Fever vaccination) may deny you entry into a country. We recommend that you consult with your local doctor, travel medical service or specialist vaccination clinic before commencing your travel. General health advice for the destination you wish to visit is also available from DFAT (see smarttraveller.gov.au).

 

Group Travel

 

Any medical condition, disability or mobility difficulty that may affect the functioning of the group MUST be advised on the booking form. Any passenger with pre-existing medical condition or illness MUST declare the nature of such condition at the time of booking and make arrangements for the provision of any drugs or other courses of treatment that may be required during your tour. Any relevant heath conditions NOT adequately disclosed may result in your immediate and direct return back to your home port at your own expense and no refund. This clause has been put in place to assure the health and safety of all group members and in particular, those wishing to share your room. We recommend consulting your doctor in respect to travelling with us.

 

Travel Advice

 

We recommend that you contact the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade or visit their website at www.smartraveller.gov.au for general travel advice, as well as specific advice (including safety alert levels) relating to the destination you wish to visit. You can also register your travel plans with DFAT, so that you may be more easily contacted in an emergency.

 

Additional travel arrangements

 

Travel with a Twist™ can arrange and advise additional travel and costs. If you require International, Internal flights, please contact us for a competitive quote. We can arrange tours, accommodation, car hire, rail if you wish to extend your trip.

 

Passport/Visa

 

Each passenger is responsible for ensuring they possess a valid passport with a validity of over 6 months after the intended date of return to Australia. Please take note some countries require a machine-readable passport. When assisting with an international travel booking, Travel with a Twist™ will assume that all travellers on the booking have a valid Australian passport. If this is not the case, you must let us know.

 

NON –Australian passport holders must possess a valid Australian Re-entry Certificate. If you are travelling on a passport issued by a country other than Australia, you will need to be aware that the visa requirements may differ from those for Australian passport holders. We will be happy to advise you at the time of booking. Incomplete travel documentation will incur standard cancellation fees.

 

Travel to the USA including Hawaii

 

ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) has mandatory enforcement from 20th January 2010. An ESTA is required by all passengers travelling under the Visa Waiver Programme prior to travel. Passengers without an ESTA will not be issued with a boarding pass or clear passport/visa checks and therefore will NOT be allowed to travel. Passengers should visit the website: http://esta.chp.dhs.gov and fill in the required information. In most cases, a response will be received within seconds determining whether travel to the US has been authorised. If the application is not authorised, then a visa may be requested through the US Embassy. In some instances, customers will need to wait up to 72 hours for authorisation.

 

Consumer Protection

 

Travel with a Twist™Pty Ltd holds IATA ( International Air Transportation Association) identification credentials by form of a TIDS ( Travel Industry Designator Service) number 96804540 and keeps all monies held in Client Trust account

 

Special Requests

 

Any special requests (such as airline seating, dietary requirements, shared accommodation) made at the time of booking are on a request on basis. We will do our upmost to accommodate on your requests but cannot guarantee this.

 

Pricing

 

All prices are subject to availability and can be withdrawn or varied without notice. The price is only guaranteed once paid for in full by you. Please note that prices quoted are subject to change. Price changes may occur by reason of matters outside our control which increase the cost of the product or service. Such factors include adverse currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges, taxes and airfare increases. Please contact Travel with a Twist™ for up-to-date prices.

 

Liability

 

Travel with a Twist™ does not accept any liability of any nature, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, for the acts omissions or default, whether negligent or otherwise, of third party providers, over whom it has no direct control. Under circumstances where liability cannot be excluded, such liability is limited to the value of the purchased travel arrangements. We do not accept any liability in contract, tort or otherwise for any injury, damage, loss (including consequential loss), delay additional expense or inconvenience caused directly or indirectly by force majeure or any other event which is beyond our control which is not preventable by reasonable diligence on our part.

 

Governing Law

 

If any dispute arises between you and Travel with a Twist™, the laws of Australia will apply. You irrevocably and unconditionally submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia, and waive any right that you may have to object to an action being brought in those courts.
